Tour buses will leave from the Cox Street parking lot behind Rupp Arena. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and tickets cost $15/person. Participants will spend approximately 30 minutes at the innovative infill project Artek, and at 2 of the featured farms on the tour. One of the featured farms will be explored by bus. Please see references below. Ticket will be required to board tour bus.

A genuine expression of urban living, ARTEK will shine with all the style of a metropolitan area, joined with an artistic setting and green space at home in Lexington. A sculpture garden in planned upon the completion of the ARTEK Gallery summer of 2008. Several floor plans and units still available. Displays are located in the sales office.

Juddmonte Farms - Explore by bus

Juddmonte Farms’ Lexington operation is located just south of the city, with yearling operations on Lemon’s Mill Road, and is approximately 10 miles from Blue Grass Airport. The farm consists of almost 2500 acres of land. Juddmonte has received 10 Eclipse Awards, including Top Breeder Award in 1995, 2001, 2002, and 2003 and Top Owner Award in 1992 and 2003. Juddmonte has bred 68 individual Group/Grade One winners of 121 races.

Brookfield Farm - Stop for 30 min.

 

Brookfield Farm is one of the most storied general agricultural operations in Kentucky. In 2000, much of the legendary Brookview Farms became Brookfield Farm, and the Gay family has been raising prized cattle and crops on Brookfield land since 1790. While Brookfield’s primary agricultural activity has been the breeding and raising of beef cattle, it has a substantial row-crop operation. Simply stated, Brookfield exemplifies the renowned heritage of the Bluegrass.

Dell Ridge Farm - Stop for 30 min.

 

Dell Ridge Farm, founded 1999 by Frank and Mattie Justice is located on 800 acres of prime farmland on Winchester Road outside of Lexington in Bourbon County. Dell Ridge boards, trains, breeds, races and sells Thoroughbreds. The farm is active in many sales, including the Fasig Tipton July, Fasig Tipton Saratoga, Keeneland September and Keeneland November Sales.
