Castleton Lyons Farm - Stop for 30 min.

In 1793, a Virginian by the name of John Breckinridge bought 2,467 acres of prime Kentucky farmland which would later become known as the Thoroughbred farm Castleton. Ownership passed through a number of hands over the years and the farm became a fixture in the breeding of saddlebreds and trotters. The farm has returned to its thoroughbred roots, and, on February 10, 2004, the breeding shed at Castleton –– now renamed Castleton Lyons opened its doors. Castleton Lyons once more finds itself on the map in the Thoroughbred breeding industry.

Cobra Farm - Explore by bus

Cobra Farm is owned by Gary and Betty Biszantz; they purchased the original 82 acre farm 12 years ago and now have 340 acres after buying two adjoining farms. This is a Thoroughbred operation that is home to approximately 80 horses and 20 employees year round. The Biszantz’s are from southern California and spend approximately 50 percent of their time on the farm. Mr. Biszantz has been in the Thoroughbred racing business for over 50 years and has amassed an amazing record of nearly 20 percent wins and 50 percent of being “in the money” with his race horses. And yes, he was the owner, then Chairman of the Board, of Cobra Golf Manufacturing for 20 years prior to selling the company 12 years ago, hence the name and logo.
